Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what drivers and dispatchers ask us most.

What is LaneHook?

LaneHook is software for owner-operators, small carriers and dispatchers. It helps with loads, detention, invoices, expenses, documents and broker checks.

Is LaneHook a dispatch service or a broker?

Neither. LaneHook is software. We do not book freight, hold your money or sit between you and a broker.

Do I need a dispatcher to use it?

No. The Driver Portal works on its own. Company Link is optional.

Do I need to install an app?

No app store is needed. Open lanehook.com/app on your phone and add it to your home screen.

How do I sign in?

Enter your email and we send a sign-in code. Type the code on the sign-in screen. There is no password.

Does LaneHook work for box trucks and other trucks?

Yes. It is built for owner-operators and small fleets of any truck type.

Are the calculators free?

Yes. They are free on the Tools page with no account, and nothing you enter is saved. Sign in to save results to your account.

Is LaneHook an ELD?

No. LaneHook is not an electronic logging device and the inspection checklist is not a legal DVIR.

How much does it cost?

Solo is $19 a month and includes every feature. Crew and Fleet plans are for dispatchers and larger fleets. It is free while in early access. See the pricing page.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes, from Manage billing inside the portal.

What happens to my records if I unlink from a company?

Your loads, documents and mileage stay with you. The dispatcher keeps the records for loads they sent you.

Is tax information in LaneHook tax advice?

No. Reports and calculators are estimates for planning. Ask a tax professional about your situation.
