Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and LaneHook when you use lanehook.com, the Driver Portal, the Dispatcher Portal, or anything else we offer under the LaneHook name (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use LaneHook.
LaneHook is operated by Vision Make Studio in New Jersey, United States ("LaneHook", "we", "us"). You can reach us at info@visionmakestudio.com.
1. What LaneHook is
LaneHook is software for owner-operators, small fleets and dispatchers. It helps you keep track of loads, expenses, invoices, documents and mileage, and it lets a dispatcher and drivers share loads through a company code.
LaneHook is not a freight broker, motor carrier, dispatch service, bank or payment processor. We do not book freight, we do not hold or move your money, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a broker, shipper, driver, dispatcher or customer.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract.
- You sign in with your email address. You are responsible for your email account and for everything done through your LaneHook account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. One person may not share a login.
- Tell us at info@visionmakestudio.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. Plans, free trials and billing
- Early access. While LaneHook is in early access, some or all features may be free. We will tell you before any paid plan starts.
- Paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars at the price shown when you subscribe. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, the length is shown at checkout. You enter a card to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged the plan price when the trial ends, and then every month. Each person gets one free trial.
- Renewal and cancelling. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing inside the portal. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are not refundable except where the law requires it or where we choose to make an exception. If something went wrong with a charge, email us and we will look at it.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give you notice before a change reaches you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails we may retry it, and we may limit access to paid features until it is resolved.
- Taxes. Prices may not include sales tax or similar taxes where they apply.
4. Company codes, dispatchers and drivers
A dispatcher can create a company and share a company code. Anyone who enters that code in the Driver Portal can join the company and receive the loads the dispatcher sends them. The dispatcher can see the loads assigned to a driver and each load's status. A driver can leave a company at any time.
If you share a company code, you are responsible for who uses it. You can make a new code from the Company page. Each plan has a limit on how many drivers a company can have.
On the Fleet plan, a driver can choose to share their location with their dispatcher by tapping Check in. Sharing is optional, happens only when the driver taps the button, and is not continuous tracking. Dispatchers must use check-ins only to run their own operation, must not share them with others, and must tell their drivers how they use them. Check-ins are deleted after 30 days, and a driver can delete theirs at any time.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into LaneHook: your loads, rates, expenses, documents, photos and notes ("Your Content"). You give us permission to store, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you, including syncing it between your devices and showing it to the people you connect with (for example a dispatcher you joined).
You are responsible for Your Content. Do not upload anything that you do not have the right to use or that breaks the law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or use the Service for fraud, including false invoices or documents;
- try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or probe or disrupt the Service;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
- use bots or scripts to scrape the Service or overload it;
- send spam, threats or harassing messages through the chat, or use it for anything unrelated to the work.
7. Information and tools are not advice
LaneHook includes tools that use public records and automated analysis, such as broker and carrier checks, rate and profit calculators, a rate confirmation scanner, mileage and detention tracking, and drafted messages. These are aids. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date.
- Check anything important yourself before you act on it, including rates, broker and carrier details, and what a rate confirmation says.
- Nothing in LaneHook is legal, tax, insurance, accounting, safety or regulatory advice.
- You are responsible for your own compliance with FMCSA, DOT, state and other rules, and for every decision to accept, decline or haul a load.
8. Third-party services
The Service works with other companies' services, such as Stripe for payments and public FMCSA data for carrier lookups. Their terms and availability are outside our control, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep LaneHook running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, including during early access. We may update these terms. If a change is important we will tell you, for example by email or inside the portal. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using LaneHook at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@visionmakestudio.com. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, puts the Service or other users at risk, or is unpaid. If we end your account without a reason related to your conduct, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
11. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not make any warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
12. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, LaneHook and Vision Make Studio are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost loads, lost data or business interruption, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we agree to those courts.
